Eight O'Five Jive - Too Many Men
Eight O'Five Jive are a band out of time. Their debut album Too Many Men would earn them headlining gigs at all the hip clubs in the late 40's early 50's when that post World War swing blues was what all the the cool kids were dancing to. The music swings and has just a hint of that early rockabilly that was soon to take the world by storm. The 50's loss is our gain. The songs on Too Many Men are grounded in the here and now, even including Facebook references! They are upbeat, finger poppin', toe tapping music, with more than its share of sexy innuendo and tease thrown in.
I'm adding "Have Mercy Baby," "Misery Loves Company," "you Was Right Baby," "Feed Them Monkeys," and "Young Enough To Be My Son" to rotation.
